Oman, Iran trade reaches USD881.05m in 2013


(MENAFN) The two-sided trade between Oman and Iran reached a sum of about USD881.05 million in 2013, against a total of 50,248.7 million in 2012, the Times of Oman reported.

Oman's exports to Iran reached USD321.96 million in 2013, which marked an 8.4 percent surge over the USD297.11 million of 2012. The exportation between the two countries includes re-exports.

Imports from Iran, however, reached USD559.07 million in 2013, marking a remarkable 172.2 percent leap over 2012's USD205.36 million, according to Oman's Ministry of Commerce statistics.

"If the parties agree upon the deal and move ahead, Oman can benefit a lot, especially in the industry and manufacturing sector." the CEO of Projects and Logistics at Khimji Ramdas told Times of Oman.
