Sugar prices on the Vashi wholesale market declined by ₹5-10 a quintal on the lower side and remained unchanged at the higher end on Tuesday with routine demand-supply. Naka and mill tender prices were steady. Stockists sold old stocks at lower rates. Freight rates were steady and volumes at upper-mill level remained need-based. Major producers kept their sell offer open.
Arrivals at Vashi market were 61-62 truckloads and local dispatches were 58-60 loads. On Monday, about 22-23 mills offered tenders and sold about 38,000-40,000 bags at ₹2,450-2,600 (₹2,450-2,600) for S-grade and ₹2,580-2,750 (₹2,580-2,750) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,630-2,750 (₹2,640-2,750) and M-grade ₹2,722-2,935 (₹2,726-2,935). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,580-2,680 (₹2,580-2,680) and M-grade ₹2,680-2,840 (₹2,680-2,840).
